Curriculum Vitae

Barbara Kornexl studied food chemistry at the LMU Munich and completed her doctorate on authenticity and origin assignment of foodstuffs at TU Munich in Freising-Weihenstephan. After working in two oenological laboratories in northern Italy, she joined the Helmholtz Center for Environmental Research UFZ in Leipzig. Returning to Munich, she started in the HR department of an international company in Erding. The family moved to Zurich after the birth of her son and she joined ETH for a small part-time project in a professorship. In 2014, she took on an administrative role at ETH Zurich in a department coordination, where she worked on manifold topics such as e.g. the academic calendar, internal processes and rules, but also maintained contacts with companies and supported students in their search for an internship.

Barbara Kornexl is a mediator, Social Presencing Theater practitioner and has completed training in hypnotherapeutic communication and transcultural communication. In 2022, she moved to the Diversity and Cooperation department in the Vice-Presidency for Personnel Development and Leadership as a member of the Respect Office. Since July 2024, she has been working in the Clarification Office, also in the Diversity and Cooperation department.
