Polycloud
The Polycloud service provides virtual machine (VM) management in hybrid cloud. Virtual servers are integrated into the customer's VPZ on request.
Different deployments are offered, e.g. RedHat Enterprise Linux or Windows Server. Virtual machines are created with the selected operating system and handed over to the customer for use.
Windows Server and RedHat Enterprise Linux as operating systems are already licensed.
Maintenance of the operating system (updates, security patches, etc.) as well as licensing, installation and maintenance of applications on the virtual machines are the responsibility of the customer.
After provisioning, functions for managing the VM are available to the customer, e.g. snapshots, opening the console, adding disk etc.
- Customers can independently dispose of their ordered resources and select from a wide range of deployments, which are rolled out within a few minutes.
- The customer does not have to take care of the server infrastructure (procurement, maintenance, renewal).
- ETH's own high-performance infrastructure is used with an availability of over 99.8% (virtual server service).
