2019 Professor Survey

Visual_Prof.Umfrage

In late summer 2019, all professors at ETH Zurich were surveyed about how they perceive their work situation. The results were basically positive, but the responses shed light on areas that could be improved. It was the first survey of its kind conducted at ETH Zurich.

The results can be found here

About the survey

The survey consisted of 40 questions and/or statements that could be evaluated by the professors. It covered the following six topics: appointment and promotion processes, decision-making and processes, teamwork and cooperation, work-life balance, working atmosphere, and complaint processes.

Of the 533 professors who received the survey invitation, a total of 321 took part – a response rate of 60.2 percent. Of these, 259 were men, 44 were women, and 7 identified themselves as “other”. Eleven participants did not indicate their sex.
